Barack Obama choosing pastor, Rick Warren, to give the invocation is confusing many people including Obama supporters. Most people are even outrage because people feel that because of Obama's choice, it's like a slap in the face to all Obama supporters and gay rights supporters. People will even feel that he should have choosen someone more worthy like civil-rights leader, Joseph Lowery who actually does support gay rights (I can't say I don't agree).
What's even more confusing is that Warren campaigned for Proposition 8 while Obama was opposed by it even though they both are against homosexuality on religous grounds. Along with the fact that Rick Warren compares homosexuality to incest, pedophilia, and polygamy (stuck in those old ages aren't we).
But I guess if you want a little hope, they both do have a common ground in gay rights. Even though their against homosexuality because of religon, they still say they fully support gay rights.
